My interests are: pc peripherals (eg* mice and keyboards) music fashion (i only wear black or dark colored clothes :skull:)
So first and foremost, I have a long way to go. I've always wanted to make a website for myself whether that be for sharing my pictures or my music. But I've only ever tried stuff like squarespace and another one which I forgot LOL. And theyre never something I was satisfied with because it was all limited. The use of presets and limited designing just made me not want to maintain them. I wanted the websites to be more me.
So it has been over a month since my last update to this webiste. I felt like I have abandoned this project and hae forgotten all about HTML T_T. I want to continue but I got other stuff that has higher priority right now. I need to accelerate learning how to make a website asap. This pressure would definitely force me to learn beter and faster. The urgency usually makes me learn faster but I can't hlep but be distracted by other things like learning JAVA SCRIPT INSTEAD LMAOO. I recently followed a tutorial on how to make a TO DO LIST and it was kinda fun and learned how programming in JS was really like. Feels fun because all of the typing but cant help but feel like all the typing was just too much and long.
SO AGAIN. I thought i promised myself to keep updating this website but turns out im too busy even for my own projects sometimes. sighhh. but anyways UPDATE TIME.
So the reason I have been away was because of 1 thing and one thing only. LINUX. I've been wanting to make a move to linux for so long now and ive finally made the jump albeit it was kinda rocky.
The reason i say rocky is becuase i did a little distro hopping. I dusted off the old laptop and beholddd, i had linux mint installed from last year. yea i already had a linux system why wasnt i using it? well because i was scared. I didnt know how to start or what to do and so i swept it under the rug. After watching so many youtube videos later and a FEW months later a.k.a 3 weeks ago i opened the lid and wiped the system.
YEA YEA I KNOW. i didnt give mint a try. it was the most simlar to windows to me-
*disclaimer: i had previously installed ubuntu and kali linux a try as a teen and i think ubuntu was using gnome and idk what kali used but they both felt weird to use.
-because of KDE Plasma but it didnt vibe with me. so i did the next most seneible thing. live boot into fedora linux (KDE PLASMA). HUHHH BUT WHY?? well idk it just gave me the most *tips hat* discord mod m'lady vibes and for some reason that made me wanna try it. so i installed fedora, installed fastfetch, took a couple of "i am a linux user now" pics then installed HYPRLAND LMAOOOOOO.
Yea i did the thing. and the only reason was because i wanted to rice my linux *for bragging rights ofc*. ive never even heard of a tiling window manager at this point but i went in. i wanted my desktop to look like a hacker's workspace. wink wink cmatrix.
thanks to the tutorial by typecraft I got hyprland up and running and boy was i so excited. for a week straight i configured and configured. the dopamine from this was crazy. something ive never felt before. and at last i created a desktop that was so efficient that i-
installed arch
yeah i did the other thing. use arch btw.
i wanted to use that hyper or rather hypr haha. sighhh. hyper efficient set up at school. but that old laptop was well old. The battery life was bad, it was heavy and the charger only worked at a funny angle that i had already set up next to bed. so i searched for the lightest distro (i knew it was arch but i was in denial). everyone and i mean everyone pointed to arch. as i anxiously downloaded the arch iso, i watched the tutorial on how to install it in VirtualBox.
wait virtual box?
yep. i was too scared to dual boot it because ive read horror stories on how the grub boot loader can get a little weird and which ever uefi partition was dominant (somehow) could take over the entire system and wipe the other system out. I DIDNT WANNA LOSE MY ABILITY TO PLAY LEAGUE OF LEGENDS plus i was gonna do school work on my arch system. i dont wanna lose important data. but then it happened. hyprland did not wanna work in virtualbox. after looking it up, hyprland currently does not support virtual machines for some reason so i got a little disappointed. HOW AM I GONNA FLEX MY RICE IN SCHOOL NOW?
scrolled down after the virtual machine tutorial. a fellow asian specifically one from india with a video that had 11k views "How to dual boot arch linux and windows". I WAS SAVED. and everything went well afterwards. after that fateful day ive been exclusively using arch linux for my school work (webdev). ironically im writing this blog on my windows 11 partition. oh wait did i mention my machine is actually natively running windows 10? HUH A TRIPLE BOOT? thats a story for another time. Im gonna sign off now since its the end of my la session for today in school. Hopefully i write this soon.
im still trying to figure out how to use neocites so please excuse the mess!!
